| SUIT | Small Unit Immersive Trainer | A virtual training system for training special units and infantry. |
| HMD | Head-Mounted Display | The screen worn on the head – in the form of glasses. |
| EXCON | Exercise Control | The computer that runs and controls SUIT. Scenarios can be prepared, started and influenced on this. |
| NPC | Non-Playable Character | A computer controlled character. An NPC reacts to the presence of participants. The conduct, equipment and appearance of an NPC can be set by the operator on the EXCON. |
| JIT-editing | Just In Time editing | Editing a scenario when it is already in the playlist. |
| DAV | During Action View | Live images that can be played back on the Spectator during a workout and where the training can be monitored. |
| AAR | After Action Review | Recorded video of the training that can be played back on the spectator after a training and viewed from different camera angles. |
| AP | Access Point | A device with which the Smartvests connect. |
| SDS | Scenario Development Station | A standalone laptop with the software Urban Builder and SUIT installed on it. |
