Check that the EXCON is properly connected according to the instructions in Setting up EXCON.
| The EXCON is connected correctly | ➔ | Go to Step 2 |
| The EXCON is not connected correctly | ➔ | Connect the EXCON correctly and check again whether the EXCON computer turns on. |

Verify that the orange light of the red ON/OFF switch on the back of the EXCON is lit.
| The orange light of the red ON/OFF switch is lit | ➔ | Go to Step 3 |
| The orange light of the red ON/OFF switch is not lit | ➔ | Make sure the EXCON is connected to the power and check again whether the EXCON computer turns on. |

Check that the blue light comes on when the ON/OFF button on the front of the EXCON is pressed.
| The blue light is lit | ➔ | The EXCON computer is on. |
| The blue light is not lit | ➔ | The EXCON computer does not turn on. Go to Deploy spare EXCON. |
